EIZO Validates SOSA Aligned Embedded Compute Hardware at the SOSA F2F PlugFest

As the defense industry continues to adopt the Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA), interoperability has become just as critical as computing performance. Open architecture initiatives such as the Sensor Open Systems Architecture (SOSA) Technical Standard are enabling system integrators to develop more modular, scalable, and upgradeable platforms by leveraging hardware from multiple suppliers.

EIZO Rugged Solutions recently participated in the PlugFest, held in July, at the SOSA Face-to-Face (F2F) meetings in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The collaborative event brought together leading embedded computing companies to validate interoperability between SOSA aligned hardware and confirm that independently developed products integrate successfully within a common open architecture environment.

Rather than evaluating performance benchmarks, the primary objective of the interoperability test day was to verify that SOSA aligned plug-in cards (PICs), single board computers, chassis, networking solutions, power supplys, and supporting hardware functioned together as intended. These interoperability events help reduce integration risk, accelerate system development, and provide greater confidence to system integrators designing next-generation mission systems.

Demonstrating Multi-Vendor Interoperability

Throughout the event, EIZO successfully integrated its SOSA aligned embedded computing solutions into chassis platforms from multiple industry partners, including Pacific Defense, L3Harris, Lockheed Martin, and Elma Electronics. The testing demonstrated seamless interoperability across a variety of hardware configurations without requiring custom modifications or interface changes.

EIZO engineers validated multiple product families spanning AI-enabled edge computing, high-performance video graphics, GPGPU acceleration, and rugged video capture.

All EIZO Rugged Solutions hardware presented during the event was successfully installed, tested, and validated across participating SOSA aligned systems. The successful interoperability testing reinforces EIZO’s commitment to developing rugged embedded computing solutions that align with open architecture standards while delivering the performance, reliability, and flexibility required for today’s compute-intensive edge applications.

As SOSA and MOSA adoption continues to grow, EIZO remains committed to collaborating with industry partners and participating in interoperability events that help advance open standards, simplify system integration, and provide customers with confidence when deploying next-generation embedded computing solutions.
