High-Performance Embedded Computing Solutions Powered by NVIDIA®

For the most demanding applications in SWaP-constrained platforms, EIZO Rugged Solutions works closely with NVIDIA® to provide the most innovative GPU technology for mission-critical applications. As an NVIDIA preferred partner, we have unique access to the highest levels of technical support to help meet the design, production, and product lifecycle requirements of embedded systems. Our XMC, OpenVPX, and PCIe and video capture and GPGPU cards are designed with NVIDIA GPUs supporting Pascal™, Turing™, and Ampere architectures. These processing powerhouses leverage the latest GPGPU advancements from NVIDIA for machine learning, artificial intelligence applications, and standard rendering pipelines.

All NVIDIA based GPGPU and video capture cards offer processing capability supporting multiple rates of TFLOPS, as well as cutting-edge GDDR5 and GDDR6 based memory busses to perform even the most compute-intensive tasks in near real-time. NVIDIA GPUs are an excellent choice for aerospace and defense applications with significant video data processing requirements including video stabilization, image processing, terrain analysis, object tracking, and 3D visualization of data.

NVIDIA Jetson Platform

EIZO Rugged Solutions supplies rugged small form factor single board computers designed with NVIDIA Jetson System-on-Modules. NVIDIA® Jetson™ is the leading AI-at-the-edge computing platform with over one million developers. With pre-trained AI models, developer SDKs, and support for cloud-native technologies across the full Jetson lineup, manufacturers of intelligent machines and AI developers can build and deploy high-quality, software-defined features on embedded and edge devices targeting robotics, IoT, smart cities, healthcare, industrial applications, and more.

NVIDIA GPUDirect RDMA

Remote direct memory access (RDMA) enables peripheral PCIe devices direct access to GPU memory. Designed specifically for the needs of GPU acceleration, GPUDirect RDMA provides direct communication between NVIDIA GPUs in remote systems. This eliminates the system CPUs and the required buffer copies of data via the system memory, resulting in 10X better performance. GPUDirect RDMA is available in CUDA Toolkit. EIZO’s Condor™ video graphics and GPGPU cards designed with NVIDIA Ampere and Turing GPU architectures support NVIDIA GPUDirect RDMA.

RDMA over Converged Ethernet

RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCE) is a mechanism to provide this efficient data transfer with very low latencies on lossless Ethernet networks. RoCE leverages the high bandwidth of Ethernet networks to provide efficient data transfer rates, which are essential for handling the large volumes of data generated by sensors. By offloading data movement tasks from the CPU to the network interface card (NIC), RoCE frees up CPU resources, allowing them to focus on data analysis and other critical tasks.

NVIDIA CUDA

Support for the CUDA® framework provides the industry’s most advanced and efficient GPGPU framework, opening new doors to the embedded military environment for highly efficient, near real-time, processing of data on platforms.

The NVIDIA® CUDA® framework was first introduced in 2007 but has evolved from a simple proprietary GPGPU engine for NVIDIA products to a robust framework offering acceleration of general parallel processing AI, traditional machine-learning, deep learning, and more. CUDA has taken the industry by storm with NVIDIA focusing heavily on support and consistent updates to the framework while also investing in unifying it to work across all NVIDIA GPUs. This allows for flexible upgrade and deployment with little transitional overhead.

CUDA-X AI™ and NVIDIA’s overall investment in AI also allows the embedded military industry to take advantage of the ability to run highly efficient inferencing on trained neural network models, leading to more accurate image enhancement and classification. Deep learning integration with NVIDIA based Condor GPU products can also be utilized to prolong legacy applications with technologies like NVIDIA NGX and DLSS being utilized to make the once dated camera sensors’ input feeds more usable in the modern era without needing to update underlying hardware/cabling.
