Orlando, Florida. – June 20, 2023 – EIZO Rugged Solutions Inc., a provider of ruggedized graphics and video products, has introduced the Condor GR2S-A4500-ETH – a 3U OpenVPX form factor video graphics and GPU output card designed for compute-intensive sensor processing applications in high-performance embedded computing (HPEC) systems aligned to The Open Group Sensor Open Systems Architecture (SOSA™) Technical Standard, Edition 1.0.
The Condor GR2S-A4500-ETH is based on the NVIDIA RTX™ A4500 GPU (Ampere Architecture), CUDA® software suite, and NVIDIA® ConnectX®-7 SmartNIC, featuring high-speed Ethernet for data transfer up to 100 Gigabits per second. The Condor GR2S-A4500-ETH supports 16 GB GDDR6 video graphics memory with Error Correction Code (ECC memory), PCI Express Gen 4, 5,888 NVIDIA CUDA cores, 46 RT Cores (2nd generation), 184 Tensor Cores (3rd generation), and dedicated H.265/H.264 encode and decode engines for real-time ISR data collection and analysis. These capabilities enable seamless data processing from multiple sensors and utilize machine learning to provide immediate, actionable intelligence for mission-critical applications. This 3U VPX solution is ideal for C5ISR applications involving low-latency data processing, at-the-edge computing, digital signal processing (DSP), and other high-performance sensor payloads.
The Condor GR2S-A4500-ETH is designed with an NVIDIA ConnectX-7 SmartNIC, enabling high-speed data transfer and enhanced storage performance with NVIDIA GPUDirect® using RDMA over converged Ethernet (RoCE). The ConnectX-7 SmartNIC includes an embedded PCIe switch that empowers the Condor GR2S-A4500-ETH to provide a solution to single-slot systems which includes PCIe switching and 40/100 Gigabit Ethernet functions, resulting in lower system size, weight and power (SWaP) requirements. In addition, this card supports 40/100 Gigabit Ethernet data plane interface and is compatible with the SOSA™ Technical Standard slot profiles 14.6.11 and 14.6.13.
John Payne, Senior Product Manager at EIZO Rugged Solutions, said, “Current architectural bottlenecks in HPEC systems require a single board computer (CPU) to manage, process, and route sensor data to the GPU via PCIe. With the integration of an NVIDIA ConnectX-7 SmartNIC and Gigabit Ethernet data plane interface on the GPU, CPU and sensor data interaction is minimized, optimizing dataflow, minimizing processing latency, and facilitating real-time decision-making.”
This product is offered in conduction-cooled or air-cooled configurations, with the air-cooled version also supporting optional DisplayPort™ outputs. The Condor GR2S-A4500-ETH is designed to meet MIL-STD-810 for defense and aerospace environmental specifications for temperature, shock, vibration, and power.
