The Talon RGD2403W is a 24.1-inch rugged LCD monitor with WUXGA (1920 x 1200) native resolution engineered for ECDIS/WECDIS navigation, IBNS (Integrated Bridge Navigation System), and mission-critical maritime operations. EIZO offers factory calibration for backlight brightness, gamma, and RGB color balance to ensure accurate color reproduction for electronic chart systems.
The monitor is designed in accordance with IEC 62288, IEC 62388, and IEC 61174 international standards for ECDIS and RADAR applications, ensuring performance aligned with global maritime regulations. It also meets the requirements of major maritime classification societies to comply with IMO global regulations and fully support program needs. In addition, it conforms to IEC 60945 for durability and reliable operation in demanding marine environments. The front is rated IP65, making it dust-tight and resistant to pressurized water jets, and the rear IP54*, ensuring reliable operation in exposed bridge and console environments.
The RGD2403W features EIZO’s in-house optical bonding. This process fills the gap between the LCD module and cover glass with resin to reduce reflections and prevent condensation that can cause fogging during rapid temperature changes, enhancing operator visibility in demanding conditions.
E-LFC (EIZO LCD Flicker Compensation) is available as an option to alleviate screen flicker, improving image quality and reducing eye strain.
*IP54 rating excludes connectors. Rear including connectors is rated IP21.
The Talon Series of COTS rugged LCD monitors are ready to be deployed in extreme environments with ruggedized features such as sunlight readability (optional), a built-in heater (optional), and conformal coating to protect components in harsh environments.
Rugged displays must be able to operate in harsh environments without sacrificing performance. Every Talon monitor is developed, manufactured, and tested in-house by expert engineers at EIZO’s own facilities, including the main controller boards, auxiliary PCBs, LCD unit, optical bonding, housing, and more. EIZO carries out vibration, shock, humidity, decompression, and extreme temperature testing at its own in-house durability test center to meet MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-461 standards. Taking control of the production chain from development onward allows EIZO to ensure quality, minimize delivery lead time, and provide extended lifecycle support.
